Pipers ride the waves in Miami hurricane lab

Miami – Dec. 9, 2016 – The last two days Ingu’s Pipers™ rode the waves in the Air-Sea interaction Salt Water Tank (ASIST) at the University of Miami’s SUSTAIN laboratory; a lab specialized in the investigation of air-sea interactions, wave dynamics and storm surges in hurricane conditions. The small dimension, the advanced sensing capability (acceleration, rotation, pressure, temperature and magnetic fields) and their ability to float just on/under the surface makes the Pipers™ a very suitable tool to study wave dynamics. The data is very valuable to improve the understanding of wave like behavior that occurs in multiphase fluids in pipelines.
